Here's a little something to make your wait easier...
MK1 is a real sleeper for boonie carry IMHO, and a damn fine choice. Slicey flat grind, wonderful handle you can use all day in any grip, light in the hand and tough. You're going to love it.
Thank you. I KNOW I'll love it. Not only am I an "old salt" that's nostalgic for the knife that we had in our hands all the way through the Vietnam Conflict, but I'm also a sucker for a "workhorse" that can get "down and dirty" with the best of them.
The Marine KaBar is a fine knife, and so is the Short Black version. The Mark 1 is a more versatile knife that keeps working under nearly every circumstance, regardless of the conditions.
IT HAS ARRIVED! I love this knife! The knife was shaving sharp right out of the box. It handles right, fits my hand right and slices like a dream. This knife is all business. There isn't a gram of wasted material anywhere on this piece of hardware. I'd take this anywhere with consummate confidence. It is no wonder the Navy issued sheath knives like these... The mission was accomplished with consummate skill and alacrity!
This knife is the epitome of the old adage, "form follows function". KaBar is, by far, the best "bang for the buck" I have ever seen.
Just how much better can it get? I don't see how it can.
