I finished my shop!!!!

Brian, thanks for the suggestions. Better lighting is in the works and I do need a fire extinguisher. And thanks to everyone else for the positive encouragement. :)

(This for the uninformed. I couldn't find a link with pictures. )

Really a classy set-up. Needs drops of blood on the floor, some sawdust accumulation against the stands where you didn't quite sweep well enough, a crumpled piece of paper or two behind the equipment, and a pegboard hook with a wrapping paper note with illegibly-scribbled dimensions on it.

You'll get there.

Kis

and a SHOP-VAC!!!!!!!!!!
You'll be getting metal shavings on the floor all over the place,
but then again, a broom works pretty well too.

Get the fire extinguisher first!!!! And make sure it is the ABC type!!!! My shop is in the "little" bedroom of our house as well. I keep the door shut when doing heavy grinding and buffing and when I'm dressing and recharging the buffing wheels as well.
Barb has never hollered at me for being messy and she cleans my shop as well in between the rare times I'm able to actually use it.:D Nothing like the support of a good woman to help a man be all that he can be!:D  :D

Nice handlde! I don't see a grinder. If you have one or get one watch it. It's probably the most dangerous tool in a shop.

My wife cleaned and organized my shop once and I could never find anything again until we moved and I set up a new shop.

To the unknowing eye, my shop looks like a junk pile with benches and tables covered with tools and stock in no appparent order with a drill press, band saw, table saw, bench grinder, and belt grinder taking up random spaces on the floor with more junk piled on them.

BUT - I know where everything is and I can go right to the tool or stock I need and accomplish the task at hand easily and efficiently. My wife is forbidden to put anything away.

I do like an organized workspace, but somehow it just got out of hand and I adjusted to it. I'm looking forward to setting up a new shop when I build my new house.
