That must have been a thrill! Congratulations. How was your state of mind while you were flying? Were you relaxed, nervous? Personally I won't even get on a passenger plane.

I was pretty relaxed. I usually don't get nervous. Actually it was the first time I've ever had a knife on a plane.

Fantastic! Well done. It looks like a 210.
It has been a long time since I have flown a Cessna but they are loads of fun.
Are you going to get your PPL?

It can be an excellent career path if you chose to pursue it with dedication and a lot of study. My brother began flying at 14 and got his private license at 16. I started at 14 but did not have the interest and didn't follow through. He joined the Air Force and when he retired, began flying private corporate jets, moving up to commercial airliners. He is about to retire now as the 737 Fleet Standards captain for a major U.S. airline.

I wish I would have started flying when I was younger and made it my career. Alas I got into it too late for that but I really enjoyed flying.
Have fun and enjoy............:)

The small planes are much safer than the commercial flights; the flight speed is lower, it can be landed relatively safely on any available road or field, and you wear a 3 point seat belt, the landing gear is usually in place, you fly low enough that you need not worry about cabin pressure, and there are no baggage handlers.

When I was 15 I got to fly a Piper Cub from Solberg Airport in Jersey up to Stillwater NY, took us 8 hours and we used a CB Radio and a road map to do it, enjoy, I used to fly a lot as a kid, my Old Man had his pilots licence and we had a family friend who had a commercial pilots licence and commercial pilots instructors licence/certification.

Had a lot fun flying all over as a kid.

Yeah, I want to be a pilot in the military when I grow up. Thought I might as well start when I can fly for free. (once a month, for half an hour)

Wow. This is funny. I did exactly the same thing when I was 15 (in 1984). Flew a very similar plane out of Poulsbo airport near Seattle. It was birthday gift. Amazing fun! Congratulations!

We bought a flight package for my son for his thirteenth birthday this year. He got to do a preflight check, start the engine, fly, and land, with the instructor coaching him, of course. He loved it. he wants to do it every year on his birthday now. :)

It's a Cessna 177 RG. Kinda of a weird model. Cross between a 172 and a 210. First small plane I rode in I jumped out of. That's real flying.
