I found a box... wonder what's in it?

There are some really great ones!! I am so sorry to hear you were robbed, Micheal. I hope they burn ....

Glad you found something good hidden away. I have a very similar Hammer/Imperial Barlow (with black shell handles) - didn't realize it was so old. OH

Quite possible Ma'm. 50-50 chance unless someone comes up with another like Pasadina, Pascagoula, Pensacola..... :D

Is there any sense (based on history and various commissions) that the knife would be more likely representing a company with an eastern presence (Pennsylvania Power & Light Co, as per the link in my previous post) vs. the "Pacific"...? Or are the possibilities too broad to narrow down?

Sounds like a good rabbit trail for you to follow. Somewhere on line it is documented when each changed names, to or from PP&L Co. Schrade Cut Co. became Schrade Walden in 1946-47. This knife does not meet government specs without a bail and it never had one. Let me know what you find, please? ;)

Here are a pair that I mentioned earlier today in a thread questioning whether or not serrations were traditional.

I am so happy for you that the thieves (may they roast chestnuts in the nether regions) missed that treasure box!

Thanks for sharing them with us.

Those jacks with the deer on them are pretty interesting, and with serrations too. That's a nice thing to find tucked away

Thanks Frank. I am not through digging yet. I think there are quite a few more squirreled away, the Sears and the Camillus/Kastor knives. And many fixed blades.

Yeah, if you look there is a big coal black one? That is very rare, the only one I know of in existance. It was a sample from an attempt to set up a manufacturing plant in Monterray Mexico. It came from the liquidation of the factory collection. Tang is Imperial, Hecho en Mexico. And another with the same theme there is an Ulster. I may have a Kingston like that as well.

What are the handle materials? I would assume a plastic and not a material that the deer are actually carved in.

Knives in the mystery box. Very cool! I usually find 22 shells in my mystery boxes. They seem to be scattered all over.

I am kind of liking those two bi-colored small 2 blade jacks. One is red/black? the other blue/white. Please tell me more. Sorry if I missed it above but did not see.

EDIT: Never mind. I read the entire thread again and found my answer.

I've been reading and thinking about your loss for some time. It's really just disappointing and I only know you from what I read here. I'm happy that they missed some cool stuff.

There were quite a variety produced in this line and they were quite popular at the time.

Well, before they hit I had a rough estinate of 1,000 knives +/-. I figure they got somewhere in the neighborhood of 250-300 of them, and anything else they thought they could sell. And my stash of cash put back to survive the winter. I am putting some knives up on eBay soon to help make ends meet. No, not linking here. But here is one I am going to sell. Another is currently listed for sale with an unreal price ($2,000 +), but I expect mine to bring far less.

Made in 1926 by Cartier on a S.C.C. skeleton, matching mechanical pencil, 14K Gold filled.

They missed these as well, sitting right out in the open. Six per side, four sides, all 897UH variants.

There were some of those (ess-ayy-kayy) knives in there too but they weren't THE brand, so I didn't show them. Maybe a half dozen of those.

I wanted to know what was the sort of lavendarish scaled knife in the bottom right hand corner of the original picture. Just below and to the right of the serrated edge with the deer head carved into the scales. Me thinks it might be a peanut but who knows.

It's like a pirates treasure chest!

Full of treasure!

That mint electricians knife is fantastic!
