Turns out it's a great little lens for inspecting the edge of a knife, it has enough magnification for me to see the primary bevel and micro-bevel

i can finally see what happens as the edge wears, and the difference between a dull edge, a sharpened edge, and a stropped edge.....

The magnifying lens on the victorinox's are really great. Compared to my loupe, the loupe is a little better. But considering the fact that the victorinox is on an implement on a pocket knife, whereas the loupe was 15 dollars on its own says a lot about the victorinox.

Here's a pic of the edge of my Minigrip, it was a tough pic to get, as i had to angle the Minigrip and focus my digicam through the SAK lens, the bright spot in the upper corner is a reflection from the SAK lens...

in all honesty, i'm amazed the pic was even usable....

The magnifying glass works well for seeing splinters and cactus thorns that are embedded in your flesh.
