I found myself unprepared today

I never head out for a hike without a supply of mountain money on me, but I also test out new foods and energy drinks close to home if not at home. Sometime what looks and sounds harmless can reek havoc with your guts and leave you looking for a thunder tree:eek: On our little outing last weekend I think I counted 10 rolls of Mountain money between 6 people for 3 days, and mine was a double roll:o and its still in my pack right now, just not as big.

Chopsticks?

To make fuzz sticks for tinder?

Wood coffee stirrers are good for that, are free and available most places.

I carry toilet paper, too, but consider a pack of Wet Wipes. They sell travel packs at Wal-Mart for $1 that have 15 of them. You can wipe your butt with them, take a whore bath, they take the sting out of some insect bites, and keep you from breaking out if you wipe down right after getting in poison ivy.

I always bring those. Most places I go you can use leaves and then finish up with 1 of those and better than TP:thumbup:

Next, I got a bit turned around, doing something stupid that I'd rather not elaborate on :o.

What have I told you about jerkin' your gherkin on hiking trails young man? You keep it up and you'll go blind. :D

I've got a nice golfball sized lump now and a bad headache.

Try hitting it with a wrench. :p :D

Glad you made it back okay. Goes to show you how a simple outing can turn into a sh!tstorm, huh?
I believe if I were desperate enough to wipe ol' whitey, I'd probably just cut off a couple chunks of my shirt...or end up making a sockless walk back to the car... (which I've done before) :D I would suggest those travel-size kleenex packs or some of those travel size baby wipes (good for more than just the poop-chute boogy) instead of plain TP -- which is pretty much junk if it ever gets the least bit wet.

Glad you made it back safe

Most of us have had one of those accidents happen to us--if not more than one.

You will be ready next time

i've seen people go hiking with just water and that's it... i wonder how many of those people had to go back home early because of how unprepared they were :D
