They are pretty special because of balance (the groves reduce weight and provide for excellent twisting action plus grip) and the awesome bg42 steel on the blade. The LDC9 also feels great in the hand and for me is an amazing work of art, it also shows off the level of perfection Chris Reeve Knives is capable of, just look at all three and try to find a flaw or difference.
It's sad that only a few (50 large and 50 small) were ever produced because they are (by far) the best sebenza ever produced (IMHO) and if more people had them, I'm sure they would agree.

what is the story behind the LDC's? can't remember anything
some of the best looking ones (and I d0nt usually like "blood" grooves and such, on the reg's handles, awesome!)
