I found this buried in my yard. What is it?

That thing was probably left there by someone working in the yard and overtime just faded into the background. Clean it up and use it, just be sure to post some nice before and after pix here so we can all check it out.

Nice find,btw.

Looks like Jason Voorhees old machete! You should be careful!!!!

dig deeper and youll find the bones of the murdered victim...which will unleash an ancient curse.....seriously though, i wish i cold find something neat like that.

I'm guessing that's all that's left of the last guy to try and tackle that bush. Better take it as a warning and leave well enough alone.

Where would I go to have this thing evaluated?

If you live near Vegas take it to the Pawn Stars!!! I would totally clean it and restore it and use it. I have an old KABAR trapper I found and it was dull, rusty, and stiff but I cleaned it, lubed it, sharpened it, and now its one of my prized possessions (its probably not even worth that much).

Clean it up and rehandle it, I'd use that sucker like no tomorrow.

Excellent find.

Oh, and don't dig there anymore, don't push your luck!

man.........I tell ya what. Every single person I've spoken to, outside of the internets, has said it was probably used to hack someone to bits.

...........do you think that will effect the value?

Sure it will :D

Deuce Bigalow: Wow! What are those?
Antoine Laconte: Medieval weapons. I'm a collector. They're worth twice as much if they've killed somebody.
Deuce Bigalow: I collect Canadian quarters... I've got about four.

If you do decide to clean it up and use it that's cool. Just remember every time you swing it, the last person to do so was either in a Hostel, or on the Midnight Meat Train. Please refer to the two aforementioned movies for further details.:D

Is OJ Simpson one of your neighbors? If so, it's worth about a million dollars! Seriously, nice find!

After i got mine all cleaned up and squared away, i made a nice cardboard/duct tape sheath for it. I traced the blade, folded it so i'd have a symmetrical piece, then traced the other side, but made it about 1/4" larger. Then put the sheath back on the cut out piece, and used duct tape to secure it. The bottoms a bit thicker due to the 1/4" i left and folded so the blade won't cut the tape. It seems to work, i secure it to my pack. I sprayed the inside down with silicone so it stays NON RUSTED lol.
