I gave up KA-BAR. Well more than one KA-BAR tonight. The Mk.1 Navies I got to replace the ones the nieces acquired by Demanding/Asking/Ohthereismyknife and such... I gave away to two nephews who also had a need for them...better than them stealing from their sisters or cousins. Uncleitious can get expensive.
MK.1 was figured to be the best general use, Kraton handle for non slippage and the small guard keeps hands from slipping and the blade size and geometry makes it a good all round blade. I won't go in to "Bushy Crafty Craftiest" MENTALality. I also gave away my last RD6 I am giving away, well I figured why not make it a triple play.
The Mk.1s I..HAD...seemed to fit what they needed. For smaller tasks I tell them to get a Lock Back like a Buck or Gerber or what ever. Even a Swiss Army knife can do.
Now I need another one...if that BK18 don't get in line first...
