CPKs are a good base for lots of modding. Don't hesitate to add choils, serrations or jimping. It's also easy to adjust the temper with a torch (blue back the spine, or knock the hardness at the edge down a few points for added toughness).

Camping trip completed. I had a lot of fun making kindling with the FK3 and cutting it into 3 inch chunks to fit under my charcoal chimney. There wasn't any hardcore action, just kindling. I had to baton through a couple of knots though. The knife cut them cleanly and is still shaving sharp after 30 or 40 beatings. I haven't put the loupe on it yet, but I can't see any amount of edge damage at all. Still smooth across a thumbnail.

I like it! This FK3 was the easiest time I had sharpening Magnacut. It must be a little softer than it is in the folders?
