I Give Up :(

This is turning into a real mess. Yes the blade is thick, it was meant that way. I had a HEST, and was able to thin it out pretty easily. Use a diamond plate, and thin accordingly. Have you ever freehanded a knife to a satisfactory point? This one should be no different if that answer is yes. I am sorry, but I don't think this is a knife/steel/profile problem.
 
I could fix that blade for you! I've been freehanding for about 30 years now and it's just basically muscle memory for me. I am the resident knife sharpener over on the ESEE forums...
 
Yep, I think you should just give up too. It sure beats the alternative of learning and accomplishing something. DM
