I just recieved the new style Moran from Best Knives http://www.bestknives.com/bestknives/spydfbbilmor.html

This knife is the bomb! I like it better than the original Moran. It sports a satin, read more scratch resistant, finish and a "normal" edge. But the real improvement is the sheath! It is top quality to say the least. This is one of the most versatile if not the most versatile sheath designs I have seen. It can be adjusted for many different forms of carry. Even neck carry. Spyderco definately has a winner on their hands. I just might have to get a few more. I will have a full review soon.

Ain't they great! I posted a little note on here a few days ago about mine. ( http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum20/HTML/001242.html
This THE BEST sheath I've seen! I thought it was Kydex, But Tim Wegner said it was ConcealX.... which is GREAT! My knife was wickedly sharp...was yours?
It seems like I keep thinking up a new way to wear it everyday.

When someone annoys you, it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown.
BUT,...it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm
and smack them upside the head. :)

we received some of the new model morans and i have to say that they are very nice. they arent as showy as the older model but they certainly apear more useful. the kydex sheath they come with is alittle bulky but it features some very nice carry options. just alittle imput.

good as the best and better then the rest.

You are right MJS, it is not as showy. I like the looks of the mirror finish on the older style. The new style is more user friendly though. The sheath is a little bulky, but very versatile. Of course the aftermarket sheaths for the Moran from edgeworks and river sity sheaths still work on the new Moran.
