I got a Problem on a MoD maybe...

trying to find some pics of these knives hehe give me a few mins .... unless you got some pics you can send me?

Aniketos, a lot of big solid knives have a tight action when they're new. You don't have to disassemble and polish them, but a little fresh lubrication and a bit of working the action may smooth it out. I got a manual MOD CQD recently, and it didn't flick out easily, but Tuf-Glide and playing with it changed that pretty quickly.

Taste in designs will differ. The LLC is one of the most successful models MT's got but I can't stand the looks, and I don't care for the feel of it in my hand, either.

i don't get what you mean when you say the matt finish is weak?

The matt finish is weak. What I mean by this is once you remove the gallon of oil that MoD put on..... you can clearly see the finish is not smooth. its like a bad paint job on a car. some parts will look nice... some parts will look crappy. Ive already made up my mind on this knife.. Monday its going out and Im getting it replaced with a Microtech Manual action Socom elite.

Look, MOD makes a decent knife, better than Benchmade IMO, but, they sure aint Microtech! :)

Say what you want about MT, their pricing policies or whatever, but they do make the best production autos out there, and their manuals arent too bad either.

Im new to this forum , Badguy can you tell me what you meant ?

a LCC D/A= Microtech model LCC (D/A)=Double Action They have made them in several diffrent variations with diffrent materials. AWESOME KNIVES!!!!

Yes, BG is right (for once :) )

The LCC is just the most incredible bargain out there, $200 for a knife that really should be selling for about $400. Its so well made, incredibly strong, it still amazes me that they sell for $200, i hate to even think what dealer cost is, maybe $150?

Get one and youll see... :)

Dont worry BG, i still love you... :)

Besides, with 2500 posts, it was bound to happen sooner or later... :)

I am, of course, just messing with you, but remember, i knew you when you didnt even know what an LCC was! Now you have, what, like 50 of them? :)

Im still waiting for you to get one of the custom ones made by Tony with pearl/Ti/blued damascus, though at $2,000, theyre not quite the bargain that the plain jane LCC's are...

Much as i like Microtech, i think it is absolutely ABSURD what they try to get for their "Ltd." custom editions, for example, in the real world, if you ask a custom maker to make your blade damascus instead of S30V, he'll charge you about $100-$150 extra, Microtech adds a damascus blade to an Ultratech, they add about $1,000 to the price of the knife! Their full blown custom LCC's are nearly $2,000, i wonder how much Greg Lightfoot himself would charge for a similar knife, im betting maybe half that.

This is a little late, but I'm posting for reference.

The CQD MOD series are tight because of the pressure that's put on the tang from the plunge lock.

You have to work it in.

Say, 300-600 open/close cycles, and it'll smooth out considerably. It'll become reasonably easy to open, although nowhere as smooth and loose as a linerlock.
