I got a question about the H.I. SW Bowie.

:
Bro the kamis sticking pretty close to the models is what gives me hope on the SW Bowie.
This is one project I am almost as excited about as I was the YCS.
And if it turns out as well as the YCS did then I think everyone will be well pleased.

Do you think an e-mail from me might make a difference in getting exactly what we want?
This one is gonna be a bear in getting it hardened properly I have a feeling. And I think it should be one the lower end of the Rc scale and about 55-57 Rc instead of 58-61 Rc.

And that katana was really nice!!

I might have to have one of them a little later on.

A fighter--we need a good production fighter that doesn't cost through the nose. The HI stable is full of excellent choppers already.

:
A fighter is what we will shoot for, but it sure won't be easily concealed!!!!
And it may take more than one prototype to get the "feel" just right.
The better the model the better the finished project!!!
Just don't lose patience as it will take some
time.

Seems like there's more excitement over the H.I. SW. Bowie than there is over the H.I.'Hawk for some reason.

Yvsa, make mine a fighter! Also, a chiruwa tang would be nice. Maybe a wide fuller like on the YCS or Gelbu Special would lighten up the blade.

BA has an excellent suggestion:

:
I won't Bro, hurry would mess it up.

And guys I know how much everyone loves fullers, but this knife is just gonna be to dayum-ed thin to have a fuller. Sorry.

If I made it thick enough for a fuller we would be up in the 2 pound class or a bit more I'm afraid. I am hoping for maybe 1 Lb or 1 1/4 Lbs, but realistically it will probably be around 1 1/2 Lbs, at least I'm hoping it won't go any more than that.
If it comes anywhere near to what the Ontario's Hells Belle balance is then we will have succeeded grandly!!

Yes....Hell's Belle balance would be very nice...

What are we going to do for sheaths?

I say we have Terry do them. What do you think?

Yvsa: While the wish list is still being compiled, PLEASE specify a wood handle rather than horn!

:
The handle will be a Bowie handle and comfortable whether in wood or horn (No sharp places), but wood usually is less slippery, we'll see what happens.

Hey Yvsa,

I actually am more excited about the HI hawk, but didn't put in any input about design etc.. cause I don't think I'd have the money to buy one so I didn' think it was right to sway the decision one way or the other...Maybe once my business takes off I can satisfy my HIKV and my HIHV (HI hawk virus)
wink.gif
. But darn it I would like to have one of these Bowies too.....The only thing worse than HIKV, is HIKV and no money to stave off its evil effects!!

Rob

:
Well Tsimi I don't see why not.

What do you other guys think?
Would the HISW Bowie qualify as feeding HIKV since it's not a khukuri?
smile.gif

I mean I wouldn't want to do anything to push Tsimi over the edge you know.
