I got me one of them there Kizer Apus' (Said in an old mans voice)

Another vote for the T1 (Task 1). I did own one that I used for a while, until my neighbor wore me down and bought it off me. Haha.
If ya like bearings and great ergo’s, the T1 is a great knife.

Also, welcome to BF.
Thank you for the welcome, I appreciate that :). Yea the handle on that T1 does look pretty comfy in the hand, and I like that the blade has good belly but doesn't look like it'd be too hard to sharpen.

Nice man that's real good to hear too. I wasn't familiar with the Tangram santa fe or the Mini domin and just looked into them. Those look really sweet too. I especially like that Mini Domin, that's a really sweet design. I think I'm going to have to get one of their G10/liner lock models. I'm realizing lately that in my past of collecting I think I placed too much emphasis on only buying knives that had materials like Ti and focusing on the more premium of the models if there was say a G10 version and a ti version. However lately I'm realizing that I've been missing out and there's really no reason to focus solely on the ti models when you can get a G10 or micarta model for about half the price, unless you just really love ti. I'm going to switch up my tastes and position on knife buying this time around I believe. I'll also be more likely to use the hell out of them.

If you like the Mini Domin, also check out the Mini Begleiter. Recent models run on bearings instead of washers. They can be had in G-10, Micarta, or titanium; including some new versions with a "frag pattern".

As far as handle materials, Micarta is my favorite. There are different kinds of Micarta but in general, it looks nice and feels great in my hand. It can have the warmth of wood without any of the sensitivity to moisture, solvents, or light abrasion. It can be polished or left rougher, often leading to a delightfully soft surface texture.

Compared to WE, Kizer is very good but not quite as nice. Comparing similar products, the WE-made stuff is just a little bit better on average. That in no way should be taken as a knock against Kizer. Like I said, Kizer is a good company with good products. In my personal experience, WE is just top of the class across tiers in the $40-250 range. (I don't own any folders more expensive than that and probably never will.)

Yea I may have to get my hands on a WE knife. They sure are causing a lot of commotion in the knife community. I listen to knife podcasts a lot because I drive all day for work.

On the micarta, I'm very familiar with the stuff, thanks for explaining though. I used to be hugely into the knife community, but left it for a few years because of life events and my focus went to other things. My favorite is kind of roughly finished canvas micarta, especially on fixed blades. I really like it on a folder that I'll be using pretty hard too. I also like a nice smoothly finished linen micarta. Micarta's one of my favorite handle materials. I'd choose any type of micarta over g10 when having the chance, although I do like me some g10 as well. They're both just awesome handle materials that are tough as nails and like you said, have that warm touch to them.

I didn't doubt it. I just like talking about Micarta. ;)

It's great on fixed blades. I love a good liner lock with Micarta scales. Even on titanium frame-locks, I like a nice Micarta overlay. I got lucky with two lately. The WE Snick was my Christmas present this year. It was announced right when my wife was asking. The other was the limited-edition Kizer Gemini with burlap overlay. I sold my Kapara just in time to be looking and I got one of the last before they were gone.

Nice man, good choices on those two! Yea I love me a nice micarta inlay or overlay too. Up till back about 5 years ago I had a small Clasic micarta inlay sebenza. That thing was super nice too. However this time around if I ever decide to get another CRK I'm going to go for a large seb or inkosi, or maybe unum. It's kind of interesting actually, during my last session of knife collecting I learned after years that my ideal blade length was 3.3 ". Anything 3 to 3.3" was what suited me. However back then I worked at a knife/gun counter in retail and that blade length suited me perfectly because it wouldnt really scare people when I pulled it out. Now days I drive for a living, so I'm either by myself or in a warehouse full of men for a small portion of the way. And when I deliver it's to union electricians so they dont care what I pull out to unwrap deliveries. This knife with its 3 inch blade now feels a bit too small for me. Actually it's not so much the blade length of, but the handle length. I think I might just prefer a little bigger a knife now days.
