It finally came in today.:D:D:D  To be honest with ya I thought it was going to be a bit heavier than what it is. Pleasantly surprised! As soon as I figure out what I want to do for a cord wrap on the handle and maybe a couple sheath mods I'll have pictures posted up. :D:cool:

Sweet congrats, I think I'm gonna sell an Izzy for one, I'm thinking I may prefer it over the Izzy from what I've sen..

Don't cut yourself or your wifey may really think you're crazy...

Congrats, I had mine wrapped the day after I got it. It's really a sweet little knife, I like the extra blade length over the Izula

WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! ESKABAR!!!!

I love my ESKabar. It has been placed in the sacred spot of shared favorite knife. It has been by my side since I got it and has done some things that a knife that size shouldn't be able to do. Its my EDC, the first on and the last to come off.

Congrats, post pics and enjoy that knife, it took alot of people to bring that to you.

I just got done wrapping the handle. Now I'm making some plans for things to do with the sheath. I'm definitely liking this little beast!

I caved and put one in my order alongside a BK7. I love when once in a while a product comes out that just makes sense. The eskabar seems like it was designed just by the pure thought of most people out there that were torn between a necker and an izula. Two great companies, one great knife.

Here are the pictures I said I'd take.
I think I got a little crazy with the wrapping. I wanted a multi carry sheath so I made it as a necker, and belt carry. The belt carry I can either have it parallel with my belt and have it set as a cross draw, or I can have it vertical on my belt and have it so I can draw it straight down like I asked about before.

The handle I wrapped like Williamcutting08 showed on youtube. I did my KaBar JAB Piggy back like that also and I really like how it sits in my hand with this wrap.

Finally; I think I found my EDC knives. Though I think you can never have to many, these will most likely be the only ones I carry everyday.

I just got my Eskabar today also! Just wrapped it up in bright yellow paracord, looks like a mean Killer Bee. I love this knife so far, only cut paper with it. I've owned it about 1 hour, I'm a fan! I named it Pablo.

The grinds on mine were a bit sloppy but everything else is just ducky. I resharpened mine and at present have no plans on paracord wrapping. I wanted it to be a neck hanger that is fairly flat (even with a zip tied fire steel), and that's what it is. I can wear it under any jacket or hoody and it barely registers its presence. Wear it as a hip EDC ? Kinda sounds\looks cool to me and I'd go that way if my original intent didn't work out. Truthfuly I'm wondering how the ''tweeners'' would work out in that role. I have rarely carried a FB EDC and I'd have an upper size limit if I did. I want usefulness combined with discretion. A tweener may be too big, we'll see. I carried a ka-bar TDI a few years ago and it snugged up tight to the waist and was actualy pretty darn good that way. But, as with many other knives, I gave it away. Enjoy your Esky buddy, I sure like mine.

Same thing with mine, but since I'm new here I really didn't want to say anything bad about the knife. I have widdled with it a little bit after the sharpening and I can't tell that I did anything because the edge stayed just as sharp.:thumbup:

I'll take a pic of how the knife sits on my belt and post it up in a bit.

The tweeners are going to be a little big for me to EDC, they are going to be more in the bushcraft category, than EDC I think. YMMV. Some folks EDC a BK2, but they don't work in the corporate world, and if they do, I need to be puttin in an app somewhere.:D

I should probably know this (blame the beer :( ) but are scales available for the Eskabar or do you have to modify other scales?

Doc

I guess the Izula scales will work with a little trimming. That's from what I've read though.

that was my experience, until the izzy 2 arrived -- that extra 1/2 of handle does more for me than the extra 1/2" of blade did -- but it's a close thing.
the esky still gets pocket time, it just has to share now.

I think I remember reports of the sheath being loose on this - is that true?

Best. Neck knife. Ever. Seriously, I have owned many and I love the ESKabar. Awesome score!

Not for me. Matter of fact I was watching reviews on the ESKabar on youtube before I bought it, and it was a little too tight for most.

That is why I hang mine from my belt like I do.
