I got my ESKabar!!!! Yeaya!!

Ok, I've been drinking so forgive me.

Never down play a Becker flaw, if the sheath is loose, say it
If the grind is off, say it.
If it breaks cutting butter, say it.

These are the things that we are here for. Don't come in and crash the party with a "dis blade sux", come in with a "dis blade sux because......" Makers need to know these things.

Cool?

Second, the Izula handles fit the ESKabar, but you have to trim the middle extensions, Ethan likes his stuff beefy. The actual thickness of the metal in the handle is wider than the Izula openings. Mark it, trim it with a razor knife, good to go.

Glad to see you Doc, how's life?

Other than that, the ESKabar is THE EDC knife, I have made bow drill kits, processed seasoned hardwood for the stove, and picked splinters out of my hand with it. I dare anyone to come up with a fault in the knife. Jeff and Mike made the handle, Ethan made the blade, and Toooj, the great and wise Toooj, made all of them work, in one of the best knives EVER MADE.

Gawd, I love Jack.

Ok well to be honest about it then, before I sharpened mine the grind was off right in the middle of the blade (length that is). Looking strait at edge the grind was a bit heavy on the left side, and just a hair of a grind on the right side.

I never said it sucks though I still love the blade!!!!!

wow, not much love for the izzy blade here. makes me think i should pick up a eskabar, see if it fits me better. i wish they made an eskabar2, because my izzy 2 handle is amazing, and fits my hand better than the traditional izzy

eskabar2? why? what's wrong with the Eskabar handle? i THINK it works out to as long as the I2 from pictures i've seen

try a wrap, or put scales on it... or tool dip! and a wrap!

correct me if im wrong, but i thought the eskabar had the same handles as the izula. which is half a inch shorter than the izzy 2. plus the izzy two has some amazing micarta scales, which i personally like better than a wrap( ive tried both)

the Eskabar takes the Izzy handles (with a tiny bit of trimming) and i THINK the end look is a touch longer than the I1, closer to the I2, but i'm not findiing the picture i wanted.

see the Blade Database on the BK14 Eskabar. various pictures, links...

Hey MWTIC....

I am glad you are having fun with your ESkabar....Nice little blade.....I will be posting pix soon as it is time to sharpen my NECKER that lives by the hearth.....I used it all last year and all this heating season to split fatwood and do fuzzies.....It quit doing fuzzies well so it is time......I will switch over to the ESkabar when I do .....Gotta give em all a workout.....

All Best.....

I love mine so far. I haven't had a chance to test it out much, but the weight, feel, balance, and sturdiness are perfect. Holding it, it doesn't feel as though you have this thick of a blade in your hand... it literally feels(to use and overused term) like an extension of yourself. It weighs half that of my RC-3(don't get me wrong.. I LOVE my RC-3) and yet it has a thicker blade. Both my wife and I are very impressed with your knife, Ethan. :)

Now all I have to do is figure out who Jack is:cool::D

I think I'd accept any grind flaw for the price as long as its not a butcher job, which I know KillBear would not let it leave QC let alone the factory..

For the price, give me uneven grinds !!!!

Or you can add $20 onto the price and get a perfect F&F..

Ya I think for any knife I get regardless of who makes it I'd be sharpening it myself. I don't know about everyone else but I like to have my knives sharpened a certain way.

Ethan Becker, I'm honored that you posted on my thread. I can't wait to see some pictures of your knives.

Phenomenal EDC knife. I work in a corporate setting and it goes with me IWB. Out and about, it hangs on my belt.

And for some reason, it keeps finding its way in front of my camera :)

I got mine for $30 and paid an extra $4.95 to have my name laser etched onto the blade......the side with the blade tip pointing to the left. It came out really sweet and want to use it for my EDC small knife and prob. an ESEE-3MIL-S for my biggish EDC knife. I'll have a BK2 strapped to my bag if I'm going somewhere where I need a big knife.
