I got scammed!!

Hello everyone,
I figured alot of people wouldn't see my reply to the Randy Herring post done by others a while ago so decided to start my own. This guy wripped me off for my Greco Companion, to sum it up, its been 2 months with no replies since I sent it. Is there anything llegally I can do to prosecute him?
Also if anyone has his phone number I'd appreciate it. thanks:(
Randy if your looking at this post I will do all in my power! So you better wish that you send me those knives. I sent you the knife so I know where you live;) :D I hate complaining and acting like a kindegartener..lol
 
If you used the USPS to ship, the postal inspector(?) will investigate him for postal fraud, and prosecute him.

They don't take kindly to that sort of thing. Just call your local post office to get things rolling.

well As my final plee I sent Mr Herring another e-mail, because I intended/intend to prosecute him with the usps, and its funny because I sent him about 2 other e-mails a day ago that he didn't respond yet he did respond to this one VERY quikly. He says that he will ship off the knives, lets hope he means it:( :)

This guy is a lying POS. If he will steal from kids, he is about as low as you can get. I hope you get your stuff, but don't count on it.
 
This guy sounds like he needs an "Ira 2X4" crammed up his you know what.

Adam is 100% correct for feeling he got scammed, I would have too. We did have some problems with flood damage at my place and I knew I might have problems with email (no power), so I sent him my cell phone number. My email box got full from only checking in once in a week, again my fault. I have checked the numbers on my phone and one may have been him, but I am not sure and it appears that there was only one call. I did let this fall through the cracks, completely my fault. After I got back on line Adam answered none of my emails, so I sent him the original deal, the Mentor and the Case. He has never responded that he got them or updated on this thread. In fact, another BF member told me about this thread or I wouldn't have known about it. I have a USPS delivery confirmation showing the knives were delivered. I threw in a couple of chem sticks as well. If one of the moderators wants to get involved in this I have all my paperwork for the shipping.

If Adam will respond on this thread I will send him his Companion back as well and he can keep my knives. These knives were only worth around $20, so it is not a financial thing, I want him to be sastisfied, and he isn't responding to me. Fair enough, I understand if he doesn't want to. If he does, I will post the confirmation number on this thread so everyone can track it.

I have been around a long time, most folks know me on these forums. I have started trading back on rec.knives.com and have done probably around 70-80 trades. It is no secret who I am and I am open to anyone that has questions about me. I have never scammed anyone. I found another thread that said I scammed someone that turned out not to be true, but wasn't really updated. A little research would show my feedback and all the deals I have done here. Also check candlepowerforum.com, glocktalk.com, 186thousand.com.

I would invite wolfman601, and Keith Montgomery to direct their threats to me at: thebigcozy@yahoo.com. I have not scammed any children or anyone else. Anyone that wants input on this can email me or I will discuss it on the phone at my expense.
 
At no time did I threaten anyone.

Mr. Herring emailed to let me know of his displeasure with my post and to explain his side of the story. I will not make any more comments until I see an update from goddard.

I may well owe bigcozy an apology for my lying POS comment and if so, he will get it.
 
I know you're no better than your last deal, but I have dealt with bigcozy and it was a good transaction with no problems. Hopefully everything will be straightened out and if it is I would have no problem with dealing with him in the future.

yes Randy did send me the knives, and they were in good condition to boot. I suppose the reason that I went ahead and posted was because I couldn't get in contact with you, 1 phone call, in which the operator said was out of service, and around 5 e-mails, the last saying that I would report him, which he Promptly e-mailed me back the next morning, which I found a little funny. However I can be wrong, its happened to me before. However I would have tried to do something, give it to a friend to mail out, or I would have accepted a written letter, atleast that way I would have known that you atleast cared about the deal.
 
Mine was not a threat. It sounded like you needed a 2X4 crammed where the sun does not shine and you DO!!!

Now bend over or work on better communication skills, it's your choice.
 
I have to correct myself, I sent atleast two phone calles, which the first I commented above, but the second one I left a message. I doubt you wouldn't get the message. And as far you saying you have good feedback here, well I did a search and all I got was Bagheeras posts. When you sent out the knives you also said that you would send out several others because of the wait, a buck folder and a pelican light, this was of course two e-mails ago, what happened to those? Those weren't in the original trade, which is fine, I don't intend to get them, but you did say that you would throw them in, and when you sent out the knives all I got was the buck mentor and the case. It's not that big of a problem, but when you say your going to do something, then I think you should follow through.
 
And as far you saying you have good feedback here, well I did a search and all I got was Bagheeras posts.

I searched this forum using "bigcozy" as keyword and found several threads giving positive feedback. The search function here is sometimes erratic -- seems like all website internal search functions are somewhat unreliable. Or maybe you didn't use the right keyword; searching for "Herring" won't find them.
 
I don't presume to comment on this particular transaction, but I have had a couple deals with bigcozy in the past and they went smooth and easy with everything 100% as described.

Hope y'all get this figured out to everyone's satisfaction.

I appreciate your posting here and emailing me your new email address. I think you understand at this point I want everything done in public rather than private email. I understand that you probably read the post by Bagheera and thought you had been ripped off, Cougar Allen's link to Bagheera's statement clearing that up no longer works, so we are working on getting that taken care of.

I wasn't sure what you wanted once I offered you some "boot". I don't own a Buck folder, don't remember the Pelican, but it would have been just as easy to throw it in as the chem sticks. I never got a reply, so after awhile, I just shipped everything and emailed the tracking number. I never got a reply to that, or an email that you got the blades, and you never updated this post. I figure you got the package about the same day you posted this. I show one call that comes back to you, don't why you were looking for my number in this post.

Since I don't know what you want, I am shipping the Greco back to you and posting the tracking numbers here on this thread. That way there is no ambiguity and this will get over with. That is all I know to do.
 
In my dealings with Randy he has been honest and everything was as described. If he had some unfortunate things happen can you really hold that against him? Appears to me he is trying to make this thing right. He's ok in my book. Hope this gets cleared up. Doug:)
 
everything has been cleared, atleast I think, dunno about Randy. He sent me the knives a few weeks ago, and as a good gesture he's sending me back the greco as well, as he said. It appears alot of this is partly my fault, for the confusion going on in this thread. I didn't update this thread when the knives got over here, my bad. Randy, I owe you an appolagy for not updating this thread.
 
It seems that this whole thing was more a misunderstanding than anyone trying to screw someone else. I wish to apologise to Randy for my lying POS comment. I obviously posted without knowing all the circumstances.
 
Whew!! I am glad this appears to be worked out. I always hate seeing deals get ugly. It is always a good thing when cooler heads prevail!! Doug:)
