I hate to have to do this but it needs to be aired. Last year I started a thread looking for a field tester of one of my hunting knives. I was looking for someone who does enough big game hunting to put a blade through the paces. The agreement ended up being that the tester would post a review here on BF and in return could keep the knife. It was a suggestion from a very reputable member. I felt giving away a knife for a honest review was worth it. I got an email from atlasfields who gave me credentials that met what I was looking for in a tester. I sent him the knife in May 04 and he would right up a review and email it to me to read before he posted on BF. He said he would do it by Sept. 04. I had gotten busy and by the time I knew it it was Dec. 04 and nothing from him. I have emailed him quite a few times asking about the review in which the first email he said he would send it in a day. I got nothing. About a month ago I emailed him asking to return my knife if he couldn't hold up his end of the agreement. I got no response. I asked a moderator to step in and help but apparently there was no luck there because that was a few weeks ago. I'm to the point now where all I want is my knife back, screw the review. I have bought and sold alot of factory knives on this forum to prove I'm a reputable person. I've had nothing but good dealings with all that I traded or bought from and I want to thank them for that. As far as I'm concerned this is pure theft. All that had to be done was post an honest review of the knife and it was his to keep. I learned a hard lesson here and I hope it doesn't happen to another maker. All I want now is my knife back.

It would probably be helpful to post the real name and address and phone. Maybe on of us can help you out.

I only live ten minutes away from ya, I don't hunt cause I'm too lazy, but I do a lot of fishing! I'll give it a good review! :D

Bad times man, bad times.

Lesson learned here, Scott. Thanks for posting this. But I'm sorry you have to go through it for us all to learn.

Hopefully atlasfields will chime in soon and get this all straightened out.

People sometimes get lazy, put things off, and then feel ashamed about it. Here's to hoping that's the case and a quick, easy resolution is reached.

His name is Gregory Fields. I don't feel right about putting his address on a public forum. I can tell you he lives in PA. near Philly. I do not have a ph#. I have his email but he made it unavailable here at BF. Bastid/Gus was going to try and get in touch with him. Gus has not contacted me and it's been three weeks since I asked for his help. That's why I posted this.

Gus is occupied dealing with an illness in the family; I wouldn't be surprised if he's hard to get hold of right now.

I have been lazy and a ****** member. I owe Scott a review, but I've had a ton of things going on and this simply fell off my radar. For my inattentiveness and my failure to uphold my end of the bargain, I humbly apologize. Neither trait is a pattern I make a habit of displaying.

Scott, sincerely, I am sorry. At this point if you’d like you knife returned; it’ll go back to you in one piece both cleaned and polished. If you’d still like my feedback, I would be more then willing to do that as well.

Greg, thank you for posting ;) I really didn't want it to come to this. Yes I would like you to do the review and keep the knife. That's what we agreed on and I'm willing to stand by my word. If you would have just told me from the beginning you were having issues I would have certainly been understanding but when you didn't reply or give me an explanation what was I to think? Please give your honest opinion of the knife. I need to know if the design is user friendly and if you experienced anything you feel needs to be changed. The grind on that knife is not as good as what I'm doing now because now I have a much better grinder. :) I apologize for having to post this but like I said I didn't know what else to do. If after you finish testing and would like me to sharpen and clean up the knife, send it to me and I will take care of it. Thank you again Greg, I appreciate you coming forward. ;)

Great, I hope this ends well for everyone.

I always admire Scott's work at the local shows. Just need to jump in and buy one. They seem like a great hard use knife.

Scott, thank you for handling this like a true gentleman. My lack of communication has been deplorable.

I will be more tham happy to put thoughts to paper, or in this case via the computer.

Stay tuned ladies and gentleman, review to follow, soon. Honest. :p

Thanks Greg, this is all I really wanted in the first place. Do me a favor, just don't break it trying to pry open a door or window. It's a hunting knife not a pry bar. :D :D
Ohen, I'll be at the Westminster gunshow May 14 & 15. If you get a chance stop by and say hey. ;)

Scott...

I'm glad this is coming to a good closure.

I believe that I was the one that initially suggested to you,, that the reviewer should be offered the knife,, so I feel a little responsible for this as well...

Atlas..

I hope that you appreciate that I was looking out for your interests in this matter. Scott is a good guy, and deserves an honest, truthful review.
