No joke, he just came up to my back door, winked at me and my dog, then hopped off! My mutt was a little excited about the whole thing. It's just a little beby of a wabbit, fuzzy like a kitten. Managed to sneak up about 6 feet away from it...

Happy Easter!!!!

back whe in lived in KY i would chase those guys around. i did manage to catch a couple of them at some point, then released them shortly therafter.

anyway, happy easter!

My dog goes crazy over rabbits too. Chases em all over the place. We had a rabbit nest in our back yard last year, and Major kept on going and taking the bunnies out, carrying them around in his mouth for a while and then bringing them to us. Very gentle with them, we would just dry them off (they would get all slobbery) and put them back in the nest. He did this over a period of several weeks, and the bunnies were growing and looking ok, so I assume the mom kept on coming back to the nest and my dog didn't kill them, so I assume they did alright. Baby rabbits make a really funny sound as giant German Shepherds are trying to catch them, a weird sort of squeaking noise.

Cool pics...

I can't believe you have long green grass in KY right now. The grass here is just starting to turn green from brown...just waking up I guess. -Matt-

mmmm bunny.

My daughter and I were sitting around one lazy afternoon and heard some spooky "crying" sounds from the basement. I went down and found my cat toying with a bunny. She had it all ripped to shreds and the poor little thing was still wailing. I took the bunny away and thumped it over the head to put it out of it's misery. I would have saved the pelt and meat but it was pretty badly mauled. No use to me... I took it out in the yard and the cat took care of the "disposal". By the next morning there was nothing but a greasy spot and a few tufts of hair where I had put it.

My daughter was not amused. Cats are mean, but they're good for protecting the veggie garden. :D

They sure are cute when they're little. Tasty too! That little guy would have ended up in the pot if he hopped around my place- Easter or no. They taste too good to pass up.

BarberFobic1992,

When he was young, my late uncle used to be able to chase down rabbits if he could get them to run across a plowed field (perpendicular to the rows). You must be very agile to get them on even terrain. I'm impressed!

I was able to sneak up on a group of rabbits a few years back. They were behind a cemetery of all things.
