Picked this up today, I think it is worth the price. I cut some steel on it and the finish was nice! Still needed another set of hands to help me even though I had the engine hoist.

You guys have to stop posting pics of your surface grinders. Makes me want one more and more. :(

Patrice, I really was not beating the path looking for a surface grinder per se. Almost pulled the trigger on a smedium mill last week but I held off for some reason. Randomly checked Craigslist last week and found this an hour away. The mill will always be there but deals like this in the local area not so much, had to jump on it.

Great score Gix !

I saw that on craigslist and was thinking... Wow, if I only had the room for it :(

Very happy to see a found a good knifemakers home !!!

And congrats on the HT oven build.

thanks Josh. I figure I should have the Kiln done in a week or so, I have not been in the garage in a week or so cause of issues at work taking my focus away. Anyhow got GREAT news this week so I am back to my old self. Just found out today my buddy is hooking me up with 1.5" alum for my quench plates!

But to be honest the grinder does not have that much of a footprint. takes up about the same amount of space as my table saw.

Oh yea instead of going to Afghanistan for 270+ days I am going to Korea instead! That is 12 months but I will take Korea any day over that garbage can country.

I really like the grinder cant wait to get down there and see on the next trip. maybe by then you could have the mill too :D bro

now I need to experiment with different wheels to see what I like. right now it has a pretty fine and hard wheel on it. I also need to get a hub puller, hub is stuck to spindle. Sometime before the end of the year I am gonna throw a 1hp 3 phase motor in it, I need the soft start. Having to dress the wheel every single time I turn on the machine will get old especially if I am cutting a small part.

Nice one gixxer I have the same one but its in not as great of condition. Mine works but needs a good cleaning. I will repaint mine too. I have a link to the manual I will post it soon.
