OK, I found the What-a-burger post but haven't read it yet. Darn, the pictures are "dead" though.

The Great PhotoBucket Fiasco of 2017 :(
I found one of the pictures on my computer and edited it in. :)

Now that's a story to remember and one for the grand kids, shame you can only tell it once a year...

Happy April First r8shell. Great one, had me goin' till almost the very end then something told me to be suspicious. One of the best, right up there with Spark sellin' BFC to Google. ;0:D LOL

Sometimes I think I have the strangest knife luck/karma!

After getting home from the grocery store, I'm about to make a sandwich. Had the fixings out on the counter: bread, deli meat, lettuce, etc. I was about to open the new jar of Miracle Whip when I spy something odd at the bottom of the jar. My first thought is, "EEwwww, yuck! what is that?!?"
View attachment 879107 View attachment 879108 There's some grey shape at the bottom. It's a new jar, and it's still got the tamper-proof seal. Checked the expiration date: good until August, 2018.
Maybe most folks would have just thrown it out, but I just got more and more curious.

So with much trepidation, I open the jar and fish around with a spoon. I can feel something hard at the bottom of the jar, like glass or metal, and I managed to scoop it out.

Morbidly curious, I rinse it off.

Cool! It's a 1973 Schrade Walden pocketknife made for Miracle Whip's 40th anniversary. Now, I'm sure it's not a 45 year old jar. (besides, if it had been an old promotional item, I doubt they would have just stuck the knives unwrapped into the dressing.
So...it fell out of a long-time employee's shirt pocket into a vat, or somewhere along the line at the processing/bottling plant? It certainly is a mystery.

It's a good thing the knife is stainless. I'm keeping the knife, but I'm throwing out the mayo!
:D

That may not be how you obtained that knife but regardless it is a nice little knife my friend .

:cool::D:D:eek:

I wasn't fooled...;) a) Because I read it after 1st April :D and b) Because it COULD happen, at least I like to think so:thumbsup:

Kind of wishing-well for knives, which knife did you find today in an inappropriate place ;)

Had me eyeing an unopened jar of Sour Cherry Jam..saw some odd thing at the bottom, IS IT A STAG PRUNER somebody dropped in there whilst cooking the cherries???! Uh uh just a cherry stone:):( But imagination our most powerful attribute:cool:

And I thought I was the only one who didn't really care for mayo? It's given me upset stomach before:poop: yes.

Well done Rachel, thanks for continuing a great Porch tradition :)

I've been around here a bit too long, but it's a very entertaining post nonetheless :)

I'm not a mayo fan either Will ;)

It's a very long-running dispute Will, tune into one of the local TV channels, and they will bore the pants off you with a related story at least once a week! ;)

Edit - Just to add a little knife content, the Robin Hood Inn at Loxley near Sheffield was once owned by the Furness family, traditional makers of Barlow knives ;)
