I guess the micarta 25 is no longer a fairy tale.

It looks off to me for some reason. Like if the inlays was crooked. Just doesn't look like it pulled the inlays off as good as a 21. I have a 25 right now but i do plan on getting me a 21 with inlays later on.

Honestly, I just don't like it. The whole inlay looks crooked. Its one of the few designs that IMHO CRK just kinda blundered. They should have made it more 21-like or a full inlay like an annual. This just looks bad.

I can see the reasoning behind it and the ergonomics that went into it in relation to where your hand and fingers rest on it. Its sound theory, just does not look good on the 25 design.

I know CRK 25 graphics are coming. I will save my $$ for them instead.

Looks bad compared to the 21. Maybe if they just put straight cuts on the micarta and inlays it would look great. I would even be tempted to buy one if they fix that.

I'm going to have to see more photos with different angles and lighting to make a fair judgment. i like that it is trying to be different, just not sure I like the direction it went in. The real test will be to see one where the scales turn oily black (like the Micarta becomes), at which point the shape of the design will become more prominent, and the knife will either look great, or suck terribly.

More photos anyone?

That is true.
I am also thinking that it might simply be due to make it more comfortable in the hand.
I have been there and done that with the 21. I really think this would be my one and only next CRK purchase. I am tempted.
But I really want to know if it improves the handling of the 25.

Ehhhhh...do I dare say it looks.."decent?"

Anything new from CRK usually takes a while to grow on peeps...this though, might push that limit lol

I'm one that likes the 25 vs 21 because is less "simple". I do like this 25 with micarta too. I guess I'm not the "usual" CRK fan

It looks odd for sure. Like the inlay follows the radius of the handle?
At first glance it is not very appealing but you never know, the ergos may make up for it.

I'll admit it looks slightly better in this photo than the photo on the CRK website. It has a long way to go before it starts to look OK though.

I actually like it better than the one on the site. Looks like the inlays are wider which improved the looks. I don't think it looks bad.

Now where's the insingo 25?

Could be totally wrong here as I've only held a 25 a couple times, but to me it looks like where your middle finger would land would be right on the very end of the bottom inlay which would be annoying. Kind of like your finger would be half on half off.

I have to agree that it looks much better here. It just might be my next EDC.

I don't think the 25 is as good looking as the 21 whether it's inlaid or not. With that said, these inlays don't bother me. The 25 just doesn't look like a true Sebenza to me, but rather like a whole different knife that takes a couple of design ideas from the Sebenza.

As a first time CRK owner, I started off with the 25. I picked the 25 over the 21 because of the beefiness and design of the knife. I like the fact that CR is coming up with new designs and options for the 25. The inlay on the 25 may look fugly to some of you veteran CRK owners, but to a newbie I like it. I can see why they made the inlay the shape it is. I can't wait to see a small version of the 25. Same length as the small Sebenza, just beefier. An insingo blade as we'll. One thing for sure is, the quality of CRK backs up the reputation.
