A few weeks ago, I had a email from my Dojo mailing list, a friend of my teacher also had a "wilderness school", all 3 instructors are Tom Brown's student.
So I decided to take the class: 2 days, shelter, water, fire and basic food covered.
I really had a lot of fun, still no fire from the bow & drill, but I'm really close, and now I know what I was doing wrong, wich is not possible with an online tutorial.
I hope they will put the pics online soon so I can share. I learned a LOT, online knowledge is good, but if you have the chance to take a class like this, do it. Next one they give is a tracking class, and I will be there for sure.
And before you ask, I did hesitate on wich knife to bring, and I finally chose my Ontario RAT-3 in D2, and beated the crap out of it. It took everything I gave to it and asked for more. Believe me, a few guys I met there will soon have a RAT on their belts
