I had Big Chris do a (nearly) FFG on my S110v SnG. It's a slicer now.

This was a hollow ground with slight recurve in its original config, but I decided to go nuts and destroy any resale value and make it into something that would actually cut stuff. Its now .010" edge thickness. Very sharp!

Very nice! I love that thickness range behind the edge for performance. And in folders you really don't need it thicker (IMO anyway :D )

He reground a Hinderer spanto into a slicer and now it's way better than the factory slicer.
It's amazing what he can do, if you think that's amazing, use one of the knives he makes. It will spoil you.

I had him do the very same to my XM-18. I live like 20 minutes from his house, so I've handled many of his pieces. He does do great work. He was working on a killer looking survival bowie in L6 when I stopped by today. It looked so badass!

IMO, you increased the value by making it a high performance cutting tool. Something more knives should try being.

Looks great, enjoy!

I've got 6 of his knives, and I'm in Louisiana, I can't imagine being 20 min. from him. I'd be knife poor for real. I snatched one of the S110V knives he made, it's amazing. I carry a couple in my work bag and chaperone co workers when we cook. My brother claimed the boning/filet knife I just got from him. I'm eyeing the super thin blades he's been doing. I know his knives have spoiled me.

Coulda sold it, bought a Mili and pocketed a bunch of bucks.

Yeah, but I already have one of those. Lol! I really dig the SnG design. I think I will eventually have every knife I own made into a slice by Big Chris. It's fun!

I'm about 30min from him, have a few of his knives, he does great work at reasonable prices and is a super nice guy to talk with!

That looks awesome! I've never worked with Chris before but have seen a lot of his stuff. Very talented dude!

I agree. I never understood why clear improvements to knives are seen as reducing the value just because the knife has been altered.

I own 2 Spyderco Manix 2s in S110V featuring the Big Chris regrind. One at about .008 and one at .005. They are insane slicers.
They're also so lightweight that I can stick one in basketball shorts or boardshorts and not even know it's there. Perfect summer EDC

Me either. The only drawback is the Strider warranty is toast, but I've never had any issues with their quality to begin with.
