Sorry to hear about having to put her down. That is always a very hard thing to do. You are right, though--she did live a very long time for a Great Dane. Remember all the good times. Yes, she will be missed, but I am confident she will not be forgotten!

I am so sorry to hear this. I know exactly how you're feeling. I've had to do it 2 times in recent years as well, both to fawn female danes too. I miss them horribly and think about them every day. I feel for you, Xena looks like a darling girl. I bet you love her dearly. The only measly consolation I can share with you is that her beautiful memory will always be with you.

that is very sad, i think that dogs are very much a part of what keeps us together, in many ways, we have a 16 year old yellow lab and it does not matter what
time of the day you come home, she is always happy to see you. tail never stops wagging.

get you a puppy right away, that will help some...

I know how you must be feeling, look at life as a cycle. I am sure you were the best dogfather/dogmother to that great dane no one can challenge. Your choice to put down your dog was a choice that was right in a sense it gave dignity and respect, she trusted you in all the choices you made and even to the last. Your dog will live forever since she will always be alive in your mind and life.

Sorry man
that really sucks
I recently had to put my yorkie down
it really sucks
Thoughts and prayers for you and your family

Smoke up for you and your special friend. I think dogs make us better all around, and we can learn so much from them!

We had a birthday party for my daughter today, she brought her Boxer. He's only 3, an overgrown puppy, can't sit still. It is so hard to say goodbye when it is over. The best we can do is send them on their way in peace.

I had to put my dog down last November so I know what you're going through. Remember the good times you shared,it'll get you through the tough times ahead.

Jeepdude1,
Xena looks like she was a really sweet girl. Very sorry you had to go through this. I know how you feel.
May all the great memories last forever.

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm at a loss for words right now. You have my deepest condolences.

Sorry to hear that man. Few things are worse than loosing a member of the family.

Sorry to hear that. It's hard. I've put down two much loved family pets whose time had run out.

That is SO true! I had to have my 16 year old beagle put down last month, and it was hard. My thoughts are with you Brother.
