Well, after sleeping on it, sanity returned and I am today in control of my addiction. I just love the looks of that knife, but I buy knives to use and I just can't see myself using that particular seb. The issue is the Damascus steel. I'm sure it's worthy of hard use, but I'm also sure that the first time I went to dig a staple out of a cardboard box or something like that with it, I'd really have a problem bringing myself to do it.

Plus, that blade is just so fancy. Just not my style for a user at all.

I'm also not a big fan of anodized thumb lugs, and that one has gold lugs.

As it turns out, I have a black-dyed amboyna mnandi, and I've decided to hold out until I can find a large seb to match it. It doesn't have to be black-dyed, but I do like those amboyna inlays.

So if you ever see a large seb with a S30V blade, plain lugs, and amboyna scales, give me a holler. Otherwise, I'll just keep cruising the web looking for it.

(See? This is how I save money. I set for myself a goal of a really hard to find item, and then I don't buy until I find that item. See? See? THIS is how you keep an addiction under control.... )
