if anybody is thinking of getting comcast internet service BEWARE! they WILL screw you over, you wont always be able to use the internet,i was without it for nearly a week. and you wont be able to access your email when you want to!

yes its fast, but thats only when it works!

ok now about the drill part, so the service guys came to the house and ran a new cable from the pole, so they had to drill in the drywall to get it. my dad REPEATEDLY mentioned to him about the drill being there, but he STILL managed to leave it. so my dad called the next day and told the dispatcher about it who said the guy would be by to pick it up, but apparently he doesnt want it, oh well
serves em right:D

Funny, Comcast is my 4th cable modem ISP and the first in 3 years to give me a highly reliable connection. I've learned that the reliability between the cable modem and the ISP means everything. The largest factor IMHO is the cable modem box itself. ISPs use a variety of cable boxes, some work reliably and some don't. I think that has to do with whether the programming used by the ISP is 100% compatible with the cable modem you are using.

I'd suggest 1) compare notes with other Comcast users in your area and find out if someone has a more reliable connection, then compare cable boxes. Get what he has. 2) Have your ISP install a different model cable modem. I've had multiple replacements of the same box and accomplished nothing. 3) Buy an Intel cable modem (support techs rave about the reliability of the Intel boxes) and have your ISP connect the new device to the internet. They should be able to walk you through it over the phone. I was ready to buy a cable box when Comcast coughed up a cable modem that works super. Let me know how you make out.

Bill
