I hate emerson's new pivot screws

I am absolutely not kidding. Two of the most recent Spydercos that I have bought have had, how do I say it, f#@&ed up blade grinds (Police 3, and Military). My latest Spyderco purchase (Yojimdo 2) felt like the bushings were made out of sand paper and lubed with tar. Their finish is nice and clean, however their QC is just not there. Let me also mention that when I got my new Spyderco Triangle sharpener two of the ceramics are visably warped and twisted.
Golden, CO made knives have been suffering lately, but their Asian made knives are fairly consistent. However in the past, Golden-made have generally been good in terms of fit and finish. Not long ago I got a M390 Military with funky looking jimping, but being a rare sprint with M390/CF, I'd say I did well for the price.

Personally I would mention Kershaw/ZT when it comes to name-dropping stellar F&F companies. I can't even find the issues on the knives they sell as blems most of the time. Benchmade's not bad, but some people have had hit-or-miss experiences with them.

Thanks for those great pics, Skwurll. I like the new screws for the fact that you no longer need a thin blade screwdriver to adjust them.

This is exactly what I thought when I saw the pics (both Skwurll's and OP's). Just got done tearing down an old 7, and I didn't have a thin/wide enough flathead to get that pivot screw out. Thumbnail is now broken :(

I have to agree unfortunately. I had to PM2's that came with horrible pivots, and one of the detent balls were so f'ed up the knife sounded like the bushings were made of sand paper. Did I send them to Spyderco? Nope, they got returned. Two Delica's had very un-even grinds. Emerson knives aren't near perfect in f&f, but they're blade grinds and edges are clean.

I'm looking for a bronze flat head pivot screw for a Emerson and can't find one, anyone know of some?

You will get used to the new screw. I didn't like them at first, either.

I agree they look cheap. And they seem to be pretty cheapo too. Mine get chewed up by screwdrivers HELLA easy. Looks bad.

The old dome style looked sweet, and I never had problems with em getting all marked up simply from adjusting pivot tension.

Boo.

The new one's work PERFECTLY with a dime. I liked the old one's better because I could use my thumbnail as a torque wrench to get the pivot just right.

I observed the exact opposite effect. I always adjusted my Mini Com with a dime, no prob. First new one came in, a 7A, and a dime stripped it the first day I owned it while I was getting it set up.

The extra width of the slot makes more room for error of the driver isn't perfectly matched. Mine are all pretty pocked up now.

There was a generation of thin slot pivot bolts that were much to narrow to accept a dime - those were my favorite. I generally use my thumb nail on those.
