I hate tree stands!

I have never hunted from a tree stand and hope I never have to. I have never even been in a tree stand. I do understand that certain topographies and geographies make stand hunting very attractive, but fortunately I have never lived in any of those places.

Half the fun of hunting, for me, is getting the heart pumping, legs burning, sweat rolling down your face that you get from humping. I don't feel productive if I sit still all day. Not only that, it gets freakin' cold!!

I find a good bush to sit behind. I have never been in a tree stand

i strictly bow hunt i dont even use'em anymore.they frustrated me so much i hunt 99% of the time from the ground now and find that while its much harder its much more rewarding and exciting being eye level and feet away from large game.

I feel your pain, Mike. You feel like a monkey humping a football, right? Heaven help you when the wind picks up.

I was in a double ladder stand! One day was in a high wind. More exciting than anything at six flags.

:thumbup:My neighbors are only here on the weekend and they built their kids a big tree house overlooking the swamp behind us. Roof, stairs and all. Problem solved! I just hunt during the week now! Very comfortable hunting from a lawn chair.
