This is the only part about buying knives from the intardweb that I can't stand, the waiting. Last week, I bought the RTAK-II that TacBlade had for sale and ordered a Marbles folding bowie (the folding bowie is more for novelty). I'm ready for both to be here already. The RTAK-II is going to get a new handle, probably some of that Orange Osage I scored in Ohio. Anyways, back to waiting.

Any of you guys ever played with one of the Marbles folding bowies? I think they're pretty cool. Not the best knife by any means, but a pretty cool idea. I read a lot about that style of knife in a book I've got. I can't remember the name. Very interesting history.
 
Haven't gotten a chance to play with the folding bowie, but I hear you on the waiting game. The only thing worse is when you buy another, slightly cheaper blade to make the waiting easier. But then you end up waiting on two things! Oh, the humanity...

That's exactly what I did! It's torture. lol
 
Ah man I hear ya. My wife bought me one of Laconicos Folding Nessies for christmas. Talk about a painfull wait!
 
When waiting, I will often darn my socks or clean under my fingernails. If the knife still hasn;t arrived, I may read Dr. Seuss (for the umpteenth time!) or drink some coffee. It truly is a pain waiting.... I think we all are in this boat. Dependant on the purchase, of course, the waiting pains can be worse than a woman's labor pains.
 
The solution is to buy something every few days so there is a constant stream in the pipeline. ;)
 
I actually don't mind the wait too much; the anticipation is part of the fun. Also, being in Canada, I figured I should as well get used to wait...and wait a lot :o
