Because of you making me see that I can't live without it, I now have 6 1/2 IFBs cut and fit into a custom steel enclosure (pics to come), Kaowool liner cut for the lid, a hole saw aiming at the side of it, a 4 prong 220V power cord to install, 2 Kanthal coils on the way, as well as a PID controller, 2300° Type K, and SSR w/heatsink.
Also, I've started making drawings like this:
I don't have it shown, but I'm going to connect 4 10W 1.8Kohm resistors in parallel in series with a diode and run a 12V computer case fan to keep my controller enclosure ventilated. The clipped wave might not be good for the fan, but we'll see.
I may make this into a McGyver how-to. I'll take lots of pics, and if the damn thing actually works I'll do a proper writeup.
