I have 2 Cattaraugus 225Qs on the way--any impressions of this knife or others like it? ?

The left handed sheath could be as simple as the knife was to be issued to men without weapons that took bayonets, mainly pistols which were worn on the right side of the pistol belt, then the 225Q/Case 337 on the left side of the pistol belt. John

I guess the next question would be, why are there 225Qs out there without the handle scuffs?

(BTW, my 2 Catts arrived--I'll get some pics up when I get a chance. I was going to choose one and sell the other, but I think I'm going to keep them both and sell my Blackjack 125!)

If you do, contact me through PM. I have several sets of leather washers for the standard Kabar C/U, with guards, butt caps, and pins. The handle tang of the CS SRK is wider, but you can file the slot to fit.

I'll send a set on to you if you want it.

Will do, Chris! As a registered user, not a member, I may not have PM privileges, but I'll get in touch somehow. I'm still putting the original SRK rubber handle through hell, so I might ask for the parts and sit on them for a while, though.

After the war, Cattaraugus offered the 225Q to the public as a sporting knife. Just speculating but that might be why some are out there without the handle grooves.
