i have 450 dollars to spend, give me some recommendations for a 3" folder to edc

Rod Olson Quick Flick . . . if you can find one, that is. Knifeart.com normally carries them, but they're out of stock right now.

It's a very sweet slim smooth little flipper. The only reasons I did not mention it is that it has been out of stock at KA & BHQ for quite a while now and it goes for $485. My two favorite carries are Olson QF (sometimes called M9) and William Henry Atlas B-12.

A carbon fibre small sebenza👍
It's a tried and true knife. Good steel, Holds its value,Works flawlessly.
Best of all, if you ever need anything fixed or changed? You can👍👍

Very nice ....I just recently found that site, so I've never ordered anything from them. With the quality they seem to keep in stock, I figured they would be a safe one to do business with. I wish I had somewhere to handle some of the knives I'm looking at, but sadly that's not the case. No biggie, it seems anything I pick up will hold its value for the most part, so I'm not overly worried if I absolutely feel the need to let it go and try something else.

About KnifeArt.....

Yesterday Sunday 2/22/15 around noon PST I ordered a Strider SNG. I got an email from them at 10:00 PM (Sunday) with tracking, showing that it was in FedEx's possession. I ordered Two Day Air as I will be home all day Wednesday to sign for it. So I called and asked if it would be here Tuesday or still Wednesday. The guy on the phone told me because an ice storm was coming in, they wanted to make sure that all orders went out so customers got them asap and would not be delayed. They ate dinner, went back to work on a Sunday night boxed all orders and shipped and delivered all the current orders to FedEx. Will still be here Wednesday because FedEx will not ship on Saturday or Sunday, but will accept shipments 24/7.

If that is not an example of 10/10 customer service, I don't know what is.

No offense intended to anyone, but I was wondering why we never see "I have $25-$30 to spend for a EDC. Any suggestions?" You can get some really nice user knives for really a little bit of $$.

I'd go with a Kingdom Armory Mini Samaritan: http://www.monkeyedge.com/SearchResults.asp?Search=mini+samaritan

I have the green G10 version and absolutely love it. Titanium frame, OD green G10 scale (not overly textured, very comfortable to grip), 3” stonewashed CPM S30V blade, bronze washers, carbidized lockfaces, 3 oz., perfect fit and finish, lock-up, action, etc.

Here are photos of it next to a Benchmade Mini Grip: http://imgur.com/a/o8SqN

I got mine used and it was beautifully broken in, but a few people have claimed that brand new it was a bit stiff.

By the way, I have a Small Sebenza with micarta inlays too, and while it's a great knife, it's just not as exciting as the Mini Samaritan to me.

EDIT: Well, it looks like I'm a little late to the party. I should have checked first!

Congrats on the Sebbie. Let us know what you think of it and take plenty of pics. We love pics.

I agree with some other posts go ahead and try the Sebenza, its on your mind and will drive you crazy until the need is met. The precision and quality is great and they resale very well with minimal to no loss of funds. If you needed a second choice I would consider a XM-18 3" in whichever blade style suits you, they also resale quite well if you need to.

Let me also suggest the ZT 0900 for later on down the road. It's Les George's first collab with ZT and it looks awesome!

Just something to think about...

I'll say get an sng for 400 and have money left over for beer/ whisky... my modern edc is an sng... but that my change, I have a ZT 0630 inbound!

That's what I ordered..... http://www.gpknives.com/crksmsebenzacgglorious.html

Thanks everyone for the advice, this will be my first Sebenza , so needless to say I'm looking forward to it showing up in my mailbox.

Very nice choice. Sweet Sebenza.

Looks like I'm late with a suggestion, but thought I'd throw one out anyway....you know, for the future. Plus, there is always someone else with the same purchase dilemma. And I can't count how many knives I've purchased on impulse because I read some else's "I'm Considering" thread.

Now I don't have one yet, but have been eyeing the Spyderco Rubicon. I'm still wondering if it's worth the high price Spyderco thinks it is. List price just over your mark, but street price much lower. Hit's many of your marks, 3" blade, manual thumb pull and flipper. Not too overstated with the carbon fiber, but still much better looking than the standard spydie plastic.

Your choice of a small Sebbie is right on, no doubt.
Now, figure out whether you want plain titanium slabs, or a nice carbon-fiber scale...or beautiful inlaid wood...etc, etc.
Fun to figure this out...
Stay with the Sebbie; you will NOT be disappointed.

I would add in a few extra bucks and buy my 3in non flipper Hinderer XM-18 :-)

Probably can get that within budget at this point. Prices are dropping. But that is what I would get even if I did have to add a couple extra bucks. I just love that knife in both slicer and spanto.I also prefer the sterile for looks, but that doesn't change the function.

Great choice. I've got a drawer full of other very nice knives that get very little use after I got my small sebbie.
