I have a NIB Black plain-edge Leek on the way from a trade, and this time I KNOW that this trade will work out 100%, as this trade is with "kershawguy"...It'll be our 2nd trade (the first was for his 1050 folder), and this will make it my 5th Kershaw knife...4 folders, and 1 fixed-blade.

I can hardly wait to get that Leek in my hands, to let the flipping begin.:D.

It says a lot for Kershaw when a Mod with your time on the forums has got Kershaw-itis this bad! :D

Enjoy the new Leek.

...
It's a mixture of the QUALITY of Kershaw knives, and "Kershaw people" who have me so sold on Kershaws...This forum really DOES have a "family feel" to it, and everyone here is very friendly & helpful..

My first Kershaw knife (in MANY years) was the 1035 "Moose Hunter" that I received in a trade about 3 weeks ago...The QUALITY and "feel" of that knife is what got me started again...Then I received one of those little Chives a couple days ago, and, BAMN!, I was hooked on the SpeedSafe.

If you like flipping the little SpeedSafe knives, avoid playing with one of the big ones like the Offset or ZT0301, or you'll be trying to get one of those too!
There's just something about that "thwack" sound they make.
The kick is nice too, reminds me of a well tuned racegun, not violent, but you definitely feel all that mass shifting around.

I'd LOVE to have an Offset, but it's WAY OUT of my price range. However, I think that I'll be very satisfied with the Leek.

Oh I can guarantee you'll love the Leek. It's a perfect size EDC and....well, it's just an awesome knife. Congrats on the trade.

Well, I received my black PE Leek a few minutes ago, and as usual for a Kershaw, this one is perfect with no flaws, and is solid...

However, I AM a little suprised with how small and thin the Leek is, as I had a mental image of it being a larger knife.:(.

I have a few Leeks that rotate in EDC. I also consider them to be somewhat small but then again I think any 3" blade is smallish. They are a great inexpensive "gentleman's" knife and fit in very well when dining out. Mine usually rides in my back left pocket as it is easy to operate left handed. If you get a chance Glockman try out a larger version of the Onion AO. Also even though the JYDII is not AO the flipper function is very sweet and it is an extremely sturdy knife. It is also an exceptional deal for the quality offered.

It's a shame that Kershaw doesn't come out with a "man-sized" Leek...With a 4"+ long, thicker blade, and maybe a slightly thicker handle...But then, I guess it wouldn't be a Leek then.:D.

I DO have a JYDII, and aside from my Kershaw 1050, it's my favorite folder! I just wish that the scales were drilled & tapped for tip-up, left-hand carry...But still, it's an excellent knife, and is the one that has changed my mind about not liking liner-locks, as this one is solid....

Ooooo. Maybe a 1015Y Grano. A Vidalia, a pearl, a Walla Walla, a Bermuda....

hehe

yeah, I like the Leeks I have, but another 1/2 - 3/4" handle length would be better for me. :)

I've got 2 Damascus Leeks on the way, going to purchase a Cyclone, Blur in the
next week or so. Just need/like something a little bigger.
