As y'all know I patinaed my BK2...well I went out and beat the holy crap out of it today batoning and chopping...and noticed I had already rubbed the patina a lil bit...so I went ahead and sanded it all off.
While I was sanding it with the grips off I had myself an Idea...
I used model paint and coated the steel under the handles where it's not visible.
The ''black coating for rust protection'' mod I did seems like a great idea...BK&T should look into it, maybe make their knives coated from now on.
...on a serious note, anyone else ever done this? I thought it would make maintenance easier as I dont have to remove the grips now to oil/clean it. It would have been better to leave the factory coating in these areas but would have been a bugger to do with chemical stripper.
