  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

I have a brilliant idea for Mr. Becker/BK&T

I just stripped everything, and then sprayed the under-the-tang areas with some clear poly in a can.
Once it dries, you have a nice durable clear coat under the scales and no worries about rust.

Thanks for that! I will use that on my 10 as I haven't wanted to paint it.

Piss on it. I stripped mine bare, sanded it, forced a patina, and went on about it.

A little rust aint gonna eat it away in your hand, I just clean it up when I clean the knife.

To each thier own, rust don't bother me.

I don't know man, I'd get something on it. I went to baton a nine into some tough hickory and it just exploded in an orange cloud. Nothing left but shock and grivory. Rust is some sneaky shit.

I made that up....:D

took the coating off my 14 tonite, just to do something different I sanded the coating off this time instead of using stripper. Much more control this way and it didnt take too much effort or time. Like the way it turned out, would look even better with the ORANGE ZYTEL!

tool dip on the grip, let it dry. keep the screw holes open. apply handles.

should also widen the grip a little, as if with liners.

Oh yea! I took a tip from my bow hunting knowledge,if you have some bowstring wax it works great on the handle threads to keep the bolts from backing loose. When I attach my broad heads or field points to the shafts I rub a glob of the wax on the threads and after hundreds of shots into a hard foam target they stay tight.
