I just picked up a Kosters Bushcraft with this sheath:

HERE

It says it has a 'dangler'. What is this for? Can I put my belt through either the loop on the back - or through the dangler and simply let the knife and sheath slap on my leg as I walk?

I almost didnt open this one:eek:...... But the EMS guy in me....

Yea you can do that, or attatch it to your pack....

I have the same sheath with my Koster Bushcraft. If you slide the top part on your belt, you can tuck the sheath into your jeans' back pocket, or let it flop around. If you slide the lower loop on your belt, it will ride high and tight, and the upper portion will simply drop down out of the way.

i put a loop of paracord through the belt loops on my mora sheath to do the same thing. i like the sheath loose so that it can move around according to how i move. when i sit, it lays down next to me. when i stand, it hangs out next to my leg. when i go into town, i tuck the sheath into my pocket as was said.

i like a dangler, it allows more freedom for the knife and doesn't have something tight up against me.

If you wish to wear it on your belt, I would use the loop directly on the back of the sheath so it can ride high and tight (and preferably slightly at an angle). The dangler, I would imagine would best be suited for a leather strap that you can wear diagonally across your chest and up over your shoulder.

I think I've seen pictures of Doc Canada displaying and talking about this rigged setup (which seems to actually be popular).

Doc? edyu-macate us please :)

Well, this is the first time my dangler has been long enough to slap my leg - so I figured I would ask some help of those who know. ;)

Okay - I will end the innuendo. ;)

THanks for the help.

Okee dokee.

Concerning the strap that the dangler would go in, check these links out dude:

I could be wrong, but it looks viable.
