I have a few questions

In a few weeks I plan on going to IG's for my first formal/informal introduction to bladesmithing. While I do some limited knife making I was wondering if there is a knife maker near Nj, by this i mean around an hour drive. I have alot of questions. While I understand that most knife makers dont have time to teach someone I just want to show someone with experience the blades i have tried to make. I dont want to look like a total ass at IG's. A little one sure. Just not a total one. If you would spare the time one evening let me know. Thanks. Dwayne

I entered into the world of Knifemaking at IG's and you will not look like an "ass". Whether its just you and George or others they will help you be a better knifemaker. I went in with a little blade I made and sure I got some chuckles from IG about it (after which IG ate those chuckles. see: Knife that shouldn't be). Just go in looking to learn ALOT, eat alot and pound out cable hehe. You will see the entire spectrum of skill at IG's from beginners to master bladesmiths. George's is a great place to learn.
