Like my title says. I bought the advertisement upgrade package for about $6.00 more but so far all I've got are 18 page views and most of those are probably mine. The knife has been listed for four days and will run out in 6 more. Normally my experience is that by about now I'd be closer to 60 views. Does anybody have any constructive thoughts they will be kind enough to share?

I don't want to violate the TOS so I haven't included a link to my knife but if you want to look it up my forum name is the same as my eBay name.

Not sure why your view count is so low, but given that the knife you selling is very expensive that could explain it, often buyers filter by lowest price first. What I will suggest, is using a better picture for the main pic. Right now what I see is a picture of a magazine page, my buyer sense would routinely skip that image and keep scrolling. Use the best, clearest picture of the knife itself for the main photo.

OK, I looked you up and although you do not have a bunch of feedback you have been on eBay for almost 17 years and have also sold a bunch of other items in the price vicinity of the knife you are currently trying to sell there. IMHO, I don't think that the problem is you but rather what you are trying to sell. That item is a specialty knife and in a price range that only attracts collectors. It may be very rare but judging by your reported traffic count of that item, seems that potential buyers are also sparse for such an item. TBH, you may need to sit on it for a long time till the right buyer comes along. I am not trying to be discouraging but from my own experience selling higher $ collector items (none knives), sometimes I may sit on an item for well over a year till the right buyer comes along! Then again, I am a fully fledged eBay seller with an eBay store and my cost of listing per 30 days is probably a lot less than your auction style 10 days format. GLWS.

Nothing wrong with just leaving it to list and running on free listings if you have any. Good pics make all the difference in regards to buyers clicking through on an ad.

I changed the first photo to just the knife in three different view points. I hope that will draw some more looks. Maybe with people getting refunds they'll think about investing in the knife? If anyone else has any constructive idea's to add please let me know.

Knives in the multiples of thousands have a very limited audience. I think it would have better luck on consignment with a knife purveyor of some kind. Plus its an artsy fixed blade. Last knife show Imwent to it was all about tactical folders. I would wager if that was a custom one off todd begg bodega with a metric ton of damascus and timascus it would have more views. I get its an expensive knife. But sometimes expensive doesnt mean desirable.

You'll see more hits now I presume. ;^)

As said - expensive (beautiful) knife, and illegal to own in some places (Illinois for instance) makes the market very targeted.

Good luck with the sale of that beautiful piece!

Have dealt with eBay for 13 years now. Have learned tons of different ways to sell items.

I sometimes price the item low, but have high shipping. This method isn't really being "honest", but it does work. I have had buyers complain, but I explain the situation. So far, eBay has not contacted me for this practice, so I'm assuming it is allowed.

Also, like what a member mentioned...just list it for "free". You don't need all the bells and whistles. I've had items listed for MONTHS before it sold, but I'm not in a hurry.

Lastly, how badly are you trying to sell? Why not list it at 0.99cent with bidding and allow buyers to choose the price. Of course you may lose money this way.

im not sure what the item is, but adding more to the title or text for search options could help. even misspelling the item as well as spelling it correctly could help.

i normally list my searchs from low to high, so if your price is set too high i wont even see it cause i wont even scroll down that far or to the last page.

It's a very expensive knife that most likely won't ever get used so there is a much smaller market for something like that.

Just add like 30 unnecessary and unrelated tags.....

Nice knife, though.

If you don't want to violate the rules, why the hell are you on the border of getting an infraction knowing it's not allowed?
