I WANT TO BUY A NEW KNIFE. i have the money to do it. but nothing seems to just out and grab my attention. the ones that do are jsut really damn expensive i.e. sebenza/strider/lambert/etc what do you all suggest? the reason i dont want to spend 400+ at the moment is that i may be moving with my parents to viginia in a few months, and ill be losing my scholarship and my job. im at a loss people. help...please:(

i know htere are, but none of em are just jumping out to me saying "GET ME! GET ME!!!!!"

Wait! I've got it!

crbauhs--- Why don't you wait until you are settled. Then you will know how much you can spent to get what you really want. Besides, if you become despondent about your move, it's probably best you don't have any new sharp edges handy.:D

i have looked at the makers forums, but nothing really there. i am not a big fan of fixed blades. mostly folders cause i use em the most. as for the spyderco...:barf: sorry they arent my favorite company. not my favoirite designs. but that is jsut me. adn i considered the 710, but i want something a bit smaller and sheeple friendly. like my alias. hmmm, maybe i will wait to see what happenes, then i will buy a kick ass knife...descisions descisions....

So, what types of knives do you like?
What do you use them for? camping? EDC? God forbid, SD?
What aspects of a knife draw you to it most? Steel? workmanship? design?

You'll get better ideas if you give more info about what you like. ADD: And what do you already have?

ADD: there are lots of good knives out there for less than $100.

just got a benchmade kulgera - would recommend that you take a look at one. very nice knife - a little off the beaten path for benchmade - it is an osborne design so it is not a plain jane run of the mill. the blue black g-10 handles are a nice statement. it is a little more petite than I expected - I think that it will be one of my "gentlemans folders". workmanship is what you would expect from benchmade. Very sharp out of the box.

ok well i am not a big steel junkie, but i do like 154cm and up. i like folders. edc. as for what i got. i have an alias 1, griptilian, native, farmer, tinker, schrade 34ot, storm 2, buck 110. knives like that. those are my favorite and they are the ones i carry mostly. i just want to get a new one i can carry with me. i just feel the urge. as for what ill use it for, anything adn everything. kitchen, woods, carboard, anything i need it for ill use it for. no safe queens for me.

What about a Kershaw S30V Blur, or a Kershaw S30V Avalanche? Either will run about $90 +shipping online. They are assisted open, so I do not know how sheeple friendly you will consider them.

You could also look at a Benchmade 707. It has just shy of a 3" blade. and it runs just over $90.

I have never owned a Spyderco knife but the Caly 3 with g10 and VG10 is going to be the next knife I buy.I have never had a knife with a pocket clip, but after looking at all the Spydercos at Smoky Mtn Knifeworks I see why so many folks like them. The Delicas and Enduras can be had with the lightweight fiberglass reinforced nylon handles for very reasonable prices. One thing that really impressed me with Spyderco is that you can get a lot of the knives with several different blade steels and handle materials.hope this helps.

You might want to check out the new Spyderco Sage. Carbon fiber handles, steel liners, Torx screw construction, VG-10 flat ground blade with Walker linerlock. One of the new models from Spyderco and they are well built knives with excellent materials and construction. Around $95. Do a search here or over on the Spyderco Forums to see some pics from various owners.

my thing with spyercos is that they dont fit my hand. and me being a huge 6'3 220 guy, small knives dont fit well with me, thus the no to the 707 and the sage/delica/etc, though it is nice. adn i dont like linear. ya i know, im picky. those 110's sure as hell were nice though. i think i might have found it. anyone know how long the wait is?
