I have a question for you tradiional lovers

Another vote for belt sheath. I hate having stuff at the bottom fo my front pockets. I use the "watch pocket" on my jeans for change.
I tried a few different carry styles, slip, lanyard for fp and slip or none for bp, I found the sheath works best for me. Stays out of my
way, yet convenient, also protects the knife. I have a cordura one by Victorinox now, fits my preferred size (3.5") perfectly. I may make
a leather one someday, maybe to hold a single AAA light as well.

I've been carrying a little Field and Stream brand 100 lument flashlight I got pretty cheap compared to other comparable lights, with my Remington peanut and Tidioute barehead 15 jack. If I need anything bigger, it's been my Case Tribal Spear, which has been put away for my Tidioute 73 single blade. I work in an office, where the blade limit is 2.5", gummint standards. I carry my keys on my belt loop of my pants. Not a strict dress code, but I try not to be a bum in appearance. I've got a small Photon light, a small paracord fob and my classic on my keyring, in addition to my car/house/work keys. In my front right pocket, it's my peanut and light, sometimes my 15. In my right back pocket, it's my larger slipjoint. If I am carrying a one hander, I usually have that in my coat pocket, back pocket or, if I have cargo shorts/pants, in one of the lower pockets. I have been leaving my one hander at home or in my truck, in favor of carrying a small fixed blade in my pocket. Right now it's my Gossman micro Kephart, a one off, in it's sheath. I am looking to get a Skookum sheath from Scott for it, when he gets a chance. Those ride a lot better in the pocket, on small knives.

So, depending on your location, a small slipjoint paired with a small fixed blade might be the ticket.

I would like to hear your examples. I work with my hands a lot at home and have learned to enjoy stopping what I'm doing to use a traditional knife. I'm wondering if my experience is different purely because of mindset.

Also, I have to really like the knife I'm using to enjoy those delays.

Example, this picture really isn't posed. I was working on the pull cable for a Honda ATC200S. Needed the Sod Buster Jr. to trim rope.

I was making a target for my slingshot which involved me having trim pvc, cutting different lengths of cord, cutting fabric, and also cardboard. I would prefer to have a modern folder because while my other hand is full holding the cardboard up I could get my modern folder out.

Perhaps you've not tried enough traditionals.

This Opinel N9 can be easily opened and closed one handed. In fact, the lack of a spring makes is much safer to operate on handed than any modern I've tried. It takes teeny bit of practice, which not all people are willing to invest. With the addition of the small lanyard, it's also a snap to get it from my pocket, even when sitting. The knot on the lanyard is almost always just inside my jeans pocket near the lower pocket rivet. Very easy to find with my finger and thumb and *presto* you have the knife.

If French friction folders aren't your thing, traditional lock back designs can almost always be opened safely with one hand. Pinch the spine of the blade and hook the butt end of the handle on your thigh. Again, takes a teeny bit of practice. Like modern designs, the lock back is much harder to close reliably with one hand. It's the spring action. I open these one handed sometimes.

I do have a svord peasant which is awesome. It's just out of commission for a while because I'm making my own handles for it, and I've misplaced the blade.

Svord make a very good blade .
I have used a fixed Svord knife for years . Very early on in Svords history they offered what they called a rabbiters knife in kit form . You had to finish the blade and attach the handle scales etc .
My knife is my one and only attempt at putting a knife together , I've never done another because really this one does everything I've ever wanted for its intended role in life .

+1 for a traditional SAK. I do wish that SAK's were offered with a pocket clip option.
Another +1 for an inexpensive pocket clip attached to the SAK little lanyard ring. And all the other options suggested.

Well, I carry a traditional because it just feels right and a Spyderco Dragonfly 2 in front right pocket
All scenarios are covered
Oh, +1 on the small AAA flashlight ( with clip)
