Tip up is the only way to carry a flipper. As stated, a ZT variant should fit the bill. However, tip-up carry with a flipper is generally not the best idea (unless you're carrying it off-handed or back pocket). Think about it... Just sayin'!
Hi all,
First post here so hope I'm in the right section.
I'm looking for a good EDC folder but I can't find anything that's exactly to my needs.
Said needs:
Quality steel
Flipper/assisted opening
Locking
Deep pocket carry
Tip-up carry capable
Reasonably wide blade
Plain edge (prefer a drop or spear point, and nothing too tacticool!)
I will consider non-flippers as long as opening is easy and positive.
Budget is up to, say, $300. Getting blades imported to this side of the pond from the States is ruinously expensive thanks to the rip-off merchants at 'Her Majesty's Revenue And Customs' but I've learned to live with it
Or should I go custom?
Tip up is the only way to carry a flipper.
If you're looking for something in the 3" range the Kershaw Camber fits most of your requirements as well, I believe.
Agreed. A tip down flipper is when disaster strikes. The only way I would do tip down carry on a flipper is if it had a detent from hades or a lock that prevented it from opening which most do not have.
