Yablanowitz, there was a run of laminated ZDP-189 Calypso Jr (2 in fact, burgundy and black handled), knifeworks still have some black ones I believe.

DaveH, you just need another ZDP Calypso Jr, so you can keep one as a safe queen, and use the other one. This should cost less than buying a CF one (more than 2 times the price for CF, liners and a lightly modified design is quite hard to swallow for a knife which won't get used).
I have a ZDP Calypso Jr, and use it quite a bit (in EDC rotation with a VG-10 Calypso Jr and a UKPK), I can tell you that you won't regret starting using it.
Anyway, use this knife, it will satisfy you more than keeping it in a perfect looking condition. At first use it for very light work (cutting bread, removing labels on clothing, etc...), so you won't damage it, you should see by yourself that it needs more stuff to feed it's edge.
