I have an itch for a stupidly overbuilt large folder?

Agree, I have a Recon large folder and I can close one-handed with either hand. When they're BRAND new, they can be a little tight. Just flip 'em a bit, they'll loosen up. :-)

I suggest you take a look at the ZT line and consider the 03## series. I have the 0300 and it is very robustly built. Today I received the new ZT 560 and it too is a stout knife.

No question get a Grayman Satu!! You wont find a bigger, better built folder than this! No one can compete for the money!!

I have been looking at the dua (DLC/g10) I'm normally not big on recurves but the graymans are pretty subtle so it's no big deal.

Thanks to everyone who has responded thus far. My current EDC includes a zt301 and a zt560. If those are tanks by any standards... I want the presidential underground bunker.

Might have missed this

The Grayman Satu is one of the beefiest knives I know of.

I would have to add the Strider AR (old version)

G10 over Ti liners front and back, beefy liner lock and massive blade with pivot to match.
