I have been frost bit...

Glad I could return the favor Jackknife. You have done it to me before. About time I get to do it to you. Get a PW Red Bone. And while your at it get a green one too. That is high on my list. As well as a Harvest Orange.

I don't have a peanut yet, you would recommend me getting it from someone such as case, moore maker, bulldog etc right?

Rough Rider Peanut in Sawbone

Folks, let's try to keep the original poster in mind before we run off and hijack the thread.

I have a handful of Frost Cutlery's Toothpicks. Quite a few are the Steel Warriors.
All sorts of handles and such. Jade Green, Cancun Blue bone, Buffalo horn.
I carry one now and again, and they seem to be holding up pretty well.
F&F is not near a S&M and the like, but it is decent.
Nothing wrong for an entry level slippie.

Sorry. I did not realize I hijacked it. I was showing peanuts that the poster asked about. I will be more careful in the future.

I was wondering what some folks feel about the knives made by frost cutlery?

They're great values for the money. Get a couple, and you'll be getting more, I'm sure.

I've used them (Frost, Steel Warrior, etc.) for everything, from whittling to cutting up cardboard to cutting up an entire chicken for frying to steaks on the grill to . . . you name it. I used a one of their Trappers to cut up a watermelon last summer. They take a pretty good edge, they're fairly easy to sharpen, and I'm not afraid to really work them if needed.

Regarding the steel: they're all stamped "440", with no series letter. (ie: not "440A", or "440-C", etc.) Whatever it is (I think it's only 440-A) it works very well. I've got no complaints.

My only two (minor) complaints: grit in the joint, from final polishing, I think (WD40 will get that out); and when new, occasionally the scales will bleed pigment if they get wet.

I was on youtube just looking at acouple videos and i saw a video by cutlerylover and it was about acouple of his more traditional knives mainly slipjoints. He mentioned that some of Frost Culterys slipjoints were ok quality if im not mistaken. Do any of you guys have atleast one? If so what are your thoughts on it?

Thanks,
Matean

I have decided I will get some more patterns that Frost makes and try them out, if I really like them I will get them from a reputable maker. I really like the stuff from Shatt and Morgan, Canal Street Cutlery and the other really high end stuff like that. There is a sway back jack from case that really has my eye, I will have to try out some knives and see what works for me. Thanks guys!
