handle does appear to be wrapped in wire
Well that kinda depends on what the wire is made from...It will only be magnetic if it is made from a ferro-magnetic material such as iron or nickel. If what appears to be wire wrap is magnetic then it’s real wire. If not (or if the blade isn’t magnetic) then the blade is definitely modern…
It appears to be wired wrapped, and yes the blade is a heavy steal. I think you could sharpen it but the blade has a edge and the carvings seem a bit detailed to be just a propA couple of questions:
Is that actual wire-wrap (as opposed to just an impression of wire wrap [is the wire magnetic?])
Is the blade made of steel? (Heavy/magnetic)
Do the edges come to “edges”? Does it seem like it used to be sharp or could easily be sharpened?
If yes to all of the above, I think it might be old.
I'm not how practical it is either, but it would make a nasty hole. I have seen other split blades and serrated blades but none together on the same blade. If it's a prop it's certainly well done... although I can't imagine that thing being practical during any era of time.
Yes and a skull!!!I think the real question here is "can you break a window with it?"
No, its just looks that way. Appears more like they are stamped or cast pieces wrapped around a central core....The handled is wire wrapped
