I have not seen this bush craft idea before (YouTube)

Great video. I had to watch it a couple of times to realize that he is in control of his knife. I did say to myself "That's the kind of $#1t that would send me to the ER".

Yeah, I was kind of waiting for him to stab himself in the stomach or at least tear through his shirt. Of course looks can be deceiving and he was probably in control of the knife while cutting towards himself like that.

Im sitting here with my hand over my eyes, ohh hes gonna cut himself.

Awesome video man, really enjoyable.

That is such a simple idea, looks like it could be very useful for different things around the camp site.

Which knife is that? It's not a Mora craftsman or clipper. Is it a hultafors?
I have watched several of his vids and he is definitely in control of the blade. He uses the classic scandi carving methods and grips. His accent sounds scandi for sure.

i think he is from sweden...

i think that might be the frosts viking model, but i'm not sure.

he has alot of neat videos, this one is cool too.

This guy has some really good, and to me, unseen bushcraft techniques. I will admit that I flinch while watching most of them, his knife control must be fairly superb because i've never seen him cut himself. I'd be in stitches in about 5 mins trying to copy the speed and techniques he uses.

Mora's aren't superperb, but I wouldn't go so far as to call them abominable :D :D :D

(I know you didn't type that, but its what my mind translated when I first read your post)

I don't think the blade is a viking as it doesn't have the guard and it doesn't look like the guard was modified.
Ted

This is great.
Shaping long thin thing precisely with blade in freehand is sometimes quite hard.
Thanks for sharing.

To the OP.
That is quite an inovative depth gauge for using an edge as a plane

Thank you for sharing this :D

Kind regards
Mick

Very cool. The guy had very good knife control, in my opinion. It looked obvious that he use a knife a lot and knew exactly what he was doing.

All kidding aside, Hawkings I owe you one. That guy's vids are real gems. After I watched the one you linked, I watched six or seven more of his vids.

I have read about this in books, but I have never seen it applied. That is just to cool.
Thank you.
