Can some one please tell me how many Different Models of the Ultima they made??? I know they made 501 and 507....

Thanks again,
ITE

Hello Armand,

As I know (but what do I know) they made only the Ultima I (Buck 507). The 501 is a standard model, also used for several special projects. But there's no Ultima II or other.

Best,
Haebbie

Haebbie,Your correct. The 501 is named first the Esquire, later Squire. All others of the 500 series have different names as well.DM

The only production variation I know of on the 507 is in the pearl. Most were white lip pearl but if you look around you can find some black lip pearl versions which are very pretty. 507, 526, 527 and 529 blades (all polished) were used sometimes to create custom 505s without having to polish some additional blades. Further, some 526s were shipped with 507 blades and some 507s were shipped with 526 blades when they ran out of the correct blade as I recall. You might also find some 527 and 529 blades in the mix as well. FYI.

Thanks guys, I wasn't sure about the Ultima... Because I have this Pearl handle 501 that I got from ex-employee... So what is this one a Custom??? :)

Thanks,
ITE

Thanks DM, Haebbie and RM, for your help... :) ... It's a sweet little knife... ;) ... I almost didn't buy it... ... But you all know how hard it is to say, NO... :D ...

I would say the 501 is a custom. The Steeplechase and Palmetto Cuttlery Club pearl 501 knives had satin blades so their overruns would also have been satin. The script three line tang stamp would indicate that the blade was probably polished at the factory, possibly taken from a batch of polished blades made for the Aurum game scene knives or the Grand Slam knives, since you got the knife from an ex-employee.

Or is the black pearl the Ultima II?

Haebbie
