Delusion.

I do like some of their designs, and I picked up my first Emerson after I handled all their models available at NYCKS and decided on the CQC-10.

Despite the poor fit and finish, it was comfortable and the ergos were spot on for my hands. Hated the chisel edge, hated the machine marks on the liners, hated the ill-fitting G10 scales that stood proud of the backspacer, and after much use, really disliked the fact that it needed constant touchups and sharpening. So, as with all of my subsequent Emersons, I modified them to have what I wanted in a hard use knife.

Even went so far as to get a Persian custom built to where there were zero stock parts left in it. All that remained was the shape.

Emerson knives are priced just right for Emerson...or they wouldn't still be in business. Over the years there has always been more haters than fanboys, but time moves on and they are still around. I for one am happy to see any small U.S. manufacturer stay in business.
